About Eryngium
Eryngium billardieri is a plant from the Apiaceae genus, the height of this plant is 50 to 200 cm. The flowers are purple and have sharp and long spines. Eryngium billardieri flowers bloom from July to August and produce a lot of nectar, which is why it is very attractive to bees.
There are about 9 species of Eryngium billardieri in Iran and we see this valuable medicinal species in most of the pastures of Iran, especially in the mountainous heights of Alborz and Zagros.
