About Forest Honey

Forest honey is one of the honey of multi-plants, and the nectar of forest plants (broad-leaved trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants, etc.) is the reason for the production of this honey.

The reason why it is categorized in multi-plant honey is that the bee collects nectar from several different plants and turns it into honey, for this reason, we have categorized it in multi-plant honey.
Our forest honey is harvested in the northern part of Iran, which is the Hyrcanian forests and stretches from Gilan province to Golestan province.
Due to the high humidity of the region, forest honey has higher humidity compared to plains and mountain honey, and it usually has a humidity of more than 19%, and its storage must be done with great care.

The nectar of different plants plays a role in the production of forest honey, and for this reason, the color of this honey varies from bright yellow to amber in different regions and years.

How to Make Forest Honey?

The Hyrcanian forests of northern Iran are one of the important areas for local beekeepers, besides, the forests of northern Iran attract beekeepers from other regions due to the vast expanse of plants rich in nectar.

In the Hyrcanian forests of Iran, due to the presence of many diverse plants, it is not possible to harvest honey from a single plant. Only in some areas, where a specific plant has grown with a high density, it is possible to harvest honey from a single plant, otherwise, all honey is from several plants that come from the forest. are harvested

By placing their colonies in the heart of these forests, beekeepers harvest honey. And the result of bees’ activity on the nectar of plants and the day-and-night efforts of beekeepers becomes first-class and natural honey called forest honey.
